Western Australia’s prized Swan Valley region will welcome a fresh mix of residences and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) following the approval of a new development in Caversham.

Delivered by WAI Group, G Living and Fortitude Living, the project will feature four SDA homes and eight two-storey town houses on Summerville Boulevard, a stretch conveniently located near several recreational facilities and a major transport corridor.

The project, which was recently given the green light by the City of Swan, will be the latest development in G Living’s Living Architecture Series, which prioritises natural light, optimum ventilation and green spaces.

G Living architect and builder Gianpaolo Crugnale said the homes also boasted 7- and 8-star energy ratings, texturally rich finishes, and a purposefully inclusive design.

“A core part of our Living Architecture Series is inclusion,” Mr Crugnale said.
“This 12-dwelling development will focus on a minimalistic and stylish aesthetic, with home offices for people with remote working arrangements.

“We are mixing sensible and sustainable design with affordable living for people from all walks of life.

“We have purposely not over developed the site to keep the space comfortable for residents, but we have also maintained a practical approach and plan to build with strong links to transport networks and amenities.”

The Caversham homes will add to G Living’s growing development portfolio in greater Perth, Busselton, and Albany.

It will also be the latest in a series of SDA projects led by WAI Group, which is spearheading affordable and inclusive homes in High Wycombe, Hamilton Hill, Carlisle, Riverton, Busselton, Albany, Geraldton, and Exmouth.

WAI Group Director Paul Stanley said the Caversham residences were particularly important because they would bring to life a vision to harmoniously integrate SDA and residential living with calming outdoor spaces, local amenity and support facilities.

He said the building and design team essentially wanted to create a beautiful and equitable little community in the heart of Perth’s wine region.

“The four SDA residences will provide 12 Australians with physical support needs a new home and the opportunity to enhance their independence,” Mr Stanley said.

“The response has been fantastic, and we are pleased to reveal the 12-unit development has already sold out.

“This is a great community outcome for Caversham, and we are absolutely thrilled to support it.”

The Caversham development was approved by the City of Swan in late July.

G Living and WAI Group plan to commence construction this December.
