Fortitude Living breaks ground on Alata Lane affordable housing project in Kwinana

Fortitude Living was proud to join WAI Group, St Patrick’s Community Support Centre, senior government representatives and project partners to mark the official sod turning for Alata Lane in Kwinana.

The project will deliver 26 affordable townhouses for St Patrick’s Community Support Centre, creating secure, well-designed homes for people and households needing access to long-term affordable housing in a highly connected location.

Alata Lane is an important milestone for the project team as WAI Group’s first Housing Australia Future Fund-funded project and part of a growing pipeline of affordable and social housing projects across Western Australia.

The sod-turning ceremony brought together a distinguished group of government, community and industry leaders, including the Hon Roger Cook MLA, Premier of Western Australia and Member for Kwinana; the Hon Madeleine King MP, Federal Minister for Resources and Minister for Northern Australia; and the Hon John Carey MLA, WA Minister for Planning and Lands; Housing and Works; and Health Infrastructure.

Also attending were John Hartman, Chief Executive Officer of Minderoo Foundation; Michael Piu, Chief Executive Officer of St Patrick’s Community Support Centre; representatives from the Department of Housing and Works; and delivery partners from WAI Group, G Living and Fortitude Living.

Fortitude Living is proud to be part of the project delivery team, bringing construction expertise and a practical focus on quality, durability and liveability to the development.

The homes will include a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom townhouses designed to support comfortable, functional everyday living. Each residence has been planned with natural light, practical internal layouts, private outdoor space and an attractive, low-maintenance streetscape in mind.

Alata Lane demonstrates what can be achieved when government, community housing providers, designers, builders and delivery partners work together with a shared commitment to housing outcomes that are both practical and dignified.

Over the next 12 months, Fortitude Living will work alongside WAI Group, G Living, St Patrick’s Community Support Centre and the broader project team to bring the development to completion.

Once delivered, Alata Lane will provide much-needed affordable homes in Kwinana and support stronger housing choice, stability and connection within the local community.
